Carrots

What is it with carrots? Why don't I like them? I have tried to make myself like them time and time again, but I just can't do it. I really would like to eat them for my deteriorating eyesight, but I just can't bring myself to like them. Every time I try and eat carrots, they almost gag me.

I had some carrots today at lunch, but I did okay since they were soaked in Ranch dressing - which brings up a good question. Should I eat them for their nutritional value when I'm soaking them in salad dressing made of not-so-good products like mayonaisse and oil? Am I counteracting my desire for good health by soaking a nutritionally high valued food with fat? Something for a good doctor to answer maybe...

Does anyone have any great tricks to making carrots not taste like carrots while not devaluing their nutritional properties? Just a question.

Pretty funny Ash, I didn't know you had these feelings about carrots. Well, you could do what I do for my kids...which is grate them up really small and "hide" them in other foods like spaghetti, casseroles, etc. Orrrr, you could just not and say you did.

i only like carrots when they've been cooking down deep in a pot with roast and potatoes. :)

Don't sweat the carrots. Get your fiber from other sources and move on. Carrots do nothing for your eyesight. That was a myth perpetuated by the British in World War II. The British told everybody that the reason they were waxing the German bombers that came over at night was because they made the pilots eat a lot of carrots so they could see well at night. The real reason the RAF (Royal Air Force) was pasting the Nazis was that the Brits had perfected something that the Germans didn't have yet...radar. Not only did the Germans fall for it and not figure out what the radar stations were, the whole world fell for it and to this day everybody thinks that carrots are good for eyesight. The next time I come over for pot roast, I'll eat your share of the carrots.
